How much money would it take you to eat......

Ok so every now and then we have a contest in the office to kind of lighten the day and have some fun. Most of the time it consist of something absurd to eat in a short amount of time and who can do it for the LEAST amount of money.
In our office we have a big fish tank and someone always goes to the store and gets some feeder fish to feed them once a week. So we have this BIG bag of fish about to start the feeding and all of sudden someone mentions "who would actually eat these feeder fish?" So naturally a couple people are nominated to the challenge. Of course this was all a joke to start out with, when who else comes along then good ol' Joey. I swear this guy has an Iron stomach. He busts into the conversation and say's..."I'll eat all those (close to 60 little fish) for $50 bucks, piece of cake!" naturally we say "DONE." and here are the pictures to prove it!! It was so hillarious to see him take on this task and yes he actually had to chew them and not just swallow them whole, anyone can do that. I think joey about puked about 3 times....

Slow Economy and Retail Sales??

Good morning to all -

Everyone is talking about how the economy is slow and we are headed in a DEEP recession that could sting for little time. I have never noticed this before till now, but retail stores must be feeling the pinch as well right now and every sales person in their stores hound you and hound you about "if they can help you out" "is there something in particular you are looking for" etc. I went into Lids which is a hat store to purchase a couple new hats on Sunday and after 30 seconds in the store someone comes up and ask me "Can i help you with something?" So of course I replied "No i am just looking around?" So i walk around the store for about a minute or two and find one of the hats I like, and if you all know, Lids is NOT a very big store and they have 5 associates in there ready to pounce on you. Not another 30 seconds another associate comes up to me and asks, "is there a specific team you are looking for?" So I tell him, "No i am just looking right now!" At this point i am getting a little irratated and bout ready to put the hat that i have in my hand back on the shelf and walk out if another one comes up to me. I swear can you not just go into a store and look around with out getting hasseled every 30 seconds. so i continue looking around for a second hat and I start to pull a Dallas Cowboys hat off the rack to see what size it is and if it will fit, and here we go again, "Is there a specific size you are looking for?" So at this point i put the hat back on the rack and tell him, "You know how about you check me out with this one hat so i can get out of here and ya'll will stop bugging me while i am looking and by the way, i was probably going to get 2 more hats but since ya'll wouldn't leave me alone, this is the only way i can get ya'll to quit bugging me is to leave."

Afternoon Rush

Ok so I have come to the conclusion that people in the corporate world have no work ethics anymore, but they want to be paid more money? what is wrong with the world these days? Everyone seems to want money for doing nothing or trys to pass the buck off to someone else. It is frustrating to ask someone to do something and then when you go back to follow up with them its NOT done. I don't understand what is going on anymore.

For Example, I work in the Transporation industry, we move freight for large customers across the nation. One load we had going from Michigan to Georgia and the driver delivered the load, but then I ask the rep in the Michigan office to call the carrier and get the paperwork from them to confirm it delivered. We also use the paperwork to verify the arrival times and the departure times from each location which is the customer is questioning. So It takes the the rep 2 days to get in touch with them and then come to find out he emails me and says, the times aren't marked on the Paperwork, do i still need them? Well if the times aren't marked on there, then why do I need it, how hard is it to just confirm the times with the driver? It doesn't take 2 days to figure this out. So i finally pick up the phone and call the carrier and get them on the first try and it takes all of 2 minutes to confirm the times....I swear people are just lazy sometimes.....

Peer Pressure will get you!!!

Ok so after months and months of reading on my nephews blogs and my sister hounding me to start one so everyone can read my thoughts and interest day in and day out, i have finally broken down and started one of my own. So stay tuned for further posts.....
